[ Murderbot has given Chizuru a drone. It furiously checks the footage for whispers in the last week. It isolates some tied to individuals, but it can always make out what those are saying. Still, it pulls those sound clips and bundles them together. ]
It sounds like a magical effect. To be sure, these are the whispers I pulled from your drone in the last week.
[ It sends over whispers.mp3 ]
If you mean something else, then... they are not freely available in your environment.
[ Sure, some people might be a little weirded out by the idea of just getting something sent to them that contains stuff that was recorded around them the past while..
Thankfully Chizuru doesn't have that modern sense of privacy just yet, so it doesn't even register to her on that scale. She's just glad the other is looking out for her. It's very kind.
There's a few moments of nothing, since Chizuru is busy checking the record, but then-- ]
no those are not it
does that mean that the drone can not hear the whispers the way i can ?
[ .. look, Chizuru's perspectives on drones is still a little.. like this. ]
that means if the drone can not hear anything then you would not hear anything either so maybe it is just me hearing something and no one else at all ?
i suppose i could ask other people if they have heard anything
[ That sounds like a solution, right? Chizuru may not be very scientificially-minded, but even she can understand that increasing the sample size might make this a little more clear to both of them.. Especially since they're pretty much at a stalemate otherwise.
And she figures that the other is so smart, surely it would let her know if this was a bad idea. ]
maybe i am just a little bit worried about people thinking i must be crazy
And it's the answer Chizuru wants to give - the answer she will give in a moment, probably - but she's momentarily distracted by something else it is saying. ]

The drone cannot hear it like you do.

Would it help to have someone go with you?
[ Murderbot hates talking with people about anything besides media, generally, but it's Chizuru. There's a lot it'll do for Chizuru. ]
I wouldn't let anyone be mean to you.
